Mariano González
General Partner
Mariano has over twenty years of experience leading growth strategy initiatives for Fortune 500 companies and Private Equity/Venture Capital firms. His career includes a decade of strategy and operations consulting with Booz & Company and several years’ industry experience in information technology. As a Founder, he has launched several startups in professional services, retail, technology, and gaming. As an Investor, he focuses on early-stage technology companies.
Mariano holds an MBA with Distinction (Finance, Strategy, Marketing) from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, and Private Equity and Venture Capital Certifications from Stanford University, Harvard Business School and EGADE Business School.
Mariano’s global perspective is based on engagements in the U.S., U.K., Mexico, Germany, Peru, Colombia, and South Korea. He has authored multiple publications on M&A, technology, and gaming and has won the Booz Allen Hamilton Professional Excellence Award, the EKI Leadership Award, and others.
José Daniel Cotera
Principal
José Daniel has a unique and broad experience in Finance, Investments, and Entrepreneurship. Before joining MGV Capital Group, he collaborated at GICSA managing corporate financial planning & modeling related to income-producing real estate properties; at PMI Group, elaborating research & analysis of oil markets; and at SURA Investment Management, assessing market and credit risk. As a founder, he has launched businesses in real estate and retail.
Besides holding a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), José Daniel has earned both the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.
Andrea Casillas
Analyst
MD working in Venture Capital, Andrea has a Medical Degree from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, with training in Canada, US, Spain, Germany, Mexico and Israel, as well as extensive research experience at TecSalud and IMDEA institute.
Previously worked at Wisdom FO as a Project Manager after finishing med school pursuing her interest in entrepreneurship and finance, which led her to MGV Capital.
Currently finishing her Master’s degree in Microbiome at Universidad Europea.
